General Terms and Conditions (GTC)

• Up to 30 days before the course starts: Administration fee of CHF 50.–
• 29 to 14 days before the course starts: 50% of the course fee
• 13 days or less before the course starts or no-show: 100% of the course fee

Insurance is the sole responsibility of the participants. Participants are themselves responsible for adequate insurance coverage (health, accident, and personal liability insurance). For outdoor and survival courses, participants are additionally required to maintain sufficient coverage for search, rescue and recovery costs (e.g. via Rega patronage or an equivalent supplementary insurance). The Organizer will in no case assume costs for search or rescue operations.

The Organizer conducts the courses with the utmost care. The Organizer's liability for property damage and financial loss is excluded to the extent permitted by law. In particular, liability for slight negligence pursuant to Art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations (OR) is waived to the extent permitted. The waiver does not apply to damage caused by wilful intent or gross negligence and not where Art. 100 para. 2 OR prevents a waiver of liability for slight negligence in the individual case (in particular for personal injury). No liability is assumed for theft, damage, or loss of personal equipment.

RiskG scope: The outdoor courses offered take place exclusively outside of alpine and fall-hazardous terrain. No rope-based techniques are used. The activities expressly do not fall under the Swiss Federal Act on Mountain Guides and the Offering of Other Risk Activities (RiskG).

Provisioning risk: The consumption of self-filtered water or self-foraged food in nature during the courses is at the participants' own risk. The Organizer declines any liability for health consequences (e.g. infections, poisoning) to the extent permitted by law.

Medical notice: Content on first-aid, hygiene or care topics does not replace medical treatment and does not constitute medical advice. Any application is at the participant's own responsibility. In an emergency: ambulance 144, Rega 1414.

Hardware components: Where hardware (e.g. LoRa nodes, Raspberry Pi, solar components) is passed on at cost as part of a course, warranty is limited to any manufacturer's guarantee. Any warranty beyond that is excluded to the extent permitted; mandatory statutory minimum consumer rights (Art. 197 ff. OR) remain reserved.

Participants undertake to follow the instructor's instructions and to proactively communicate any physical or mental limitations before the course begins. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude participants before or during the course if they fail to meet the previously communicated equipment requirements (e.g. suitable footwear, sleeping bag with sufficient insulation rating) or if their behaviour endangers themselves, the group, or third parties. In such a case, no refund of the course fee is owed.

Personal data is treated strictly confidentially and is not passed on to third parties unless strictly necessary for the immediate course execution. In line with the Organizer's thematic focus on privacy and OPSEC, identifiable photo or video recordings of participants are not produced or published during the courses as a matter of policy. Exceptions (e.g. for advertising purposes) require the express, prior, written opt-in consent of the person concerned.

Signalfeuer enables anonymous registration via the Ghost Protocol. The following conditions apply:

Anti-Money Laundering Act (GwG): Training providers are not financial intermediaries within the meaning of the Swiss Anti-Money Laundering Act; no identification obligations under GwG apply to the acceptance of course fees (cash or deposit). Cash payments for training are legally permitted in Switzerland.

Deposit: Anonymous registrations require a deposit of 30% of the course fee. Accepted payment methods: Monero (XMR), Bitcoin (Lightning), or cash by post (A-Post Plus, opaque envelope, Mullvad-style). Remaining balance payable in cash on the day of the course. The deposit is not refundable if the participant fails to show up. In the event of cancellation by the Organizer (clause 5) the deposit is refunded in full — to the wallet or postal address designated by the participant.

Receipt: A receipt is issued under the provided alias. Anonymous alias receipts do not entitle the recipient to input VAT deduction and are suitable for private customers only.

Burn Bag Protocol (physical courses): For outdoor and scenario trainings, the participant must bring a sealed, opaque envelope on the first course day. Only the alias is written on the outside. Inside: real name, emergency contact (ICE), medical information (allergies), signed liability waiver. The envelope remains unopened and sealed in the Organizer's medic pack during the course. If it is not opened in an emergency, it is returned unopened at debrief and destroyed together ("Burn Bag"). Without this envelope, participation in physical courses is not permitted. If a participant refuses to hand over a correct, specification-compliant Burn Bag at the start of the course, they are immediately excluded for safety and liability reasons. In that case there is no claim to a refund of the course fee or the deposit.

Liability waiver under pseudonym: A liability waiver signed solely under a pseudonym and not contained in the Burn Bag is legally ineffective. The Burn Bag requirement therefore protects both parties.

Badge issuance: Anonymous participants receive a physical one-time code at the end of the course (e.g. SF-GHOST-9A7B3-X), which they can redeem at /redeem to unlock their badges.

For every session, Signalfeuer offers up to two solidarity seats (out of 4–8 participants) at a reduced price (around 50 % of the regular fee). These seats are for people who cannot afford the full course fee or can only do so partially (e.g. low income, precarious living situation, asylum or sans-papiers status).

No justification required. A short email to info@signalfeuer.ch naming the course is enough. We reply discreetly and without follow-up questions.

Seats are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis subject to availability. Discretion is guaranteed.

Solidarity seats and bundle discounts cannot be combined — either bundle OR solidarity tier.
